Job Summary

The Relief agents will represent Wasaya Airways LP interests at the community level.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Wasaya Airways LP Operations regarding the planned movements of Wasaya Airways LP passenger and cargo flights.
  • Actively solicit within the community for charter work and passengers for scheduled flights
  • Utilize radio & available media to develop and advise the community on promotions, rates, etc.
  • Handle air to ground radio communications with incoming aircraft providing the local altimeter setting, wind information and provide airport and local weather reports.
  • Meet all Wasaya Airways LP aircraft and ensure bags and cargo are unloaded in a timely and efficient fashion.
  • Ensure that all passengers (identify special-needs passengers) and cargo traffic or special shipments are checked in and receive the proper documentation as per Wasaya Airways LP policy.
  • Ensure that all passengers and shipments have completed the necessary ticket and waybill documentation.
  • Represent Wasaya Airways LP in the community in a friendly, positive, and helpful fashion.
  • Attend required training sessions and perform other duties as assigned by Wasaya Airways LP
  • Ensure accurate and prompt completion of Daily Sales Reports
  • Prompt remittance of all Wasaya revenue through preauthorized mediums
  • Meet and perform flight check-in duties for Charter flights when required.
  • Foster a healthy working environment and promote a positive climate within the workplace.
  • Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must provide a reference letter from Chief and Council.

Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven mechanical abilities.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and e-mail.
  • Professional appearance and manners

  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must possess a high level of honesty and integrity.

Assets

  • Previous experience with radio communication would be an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway
  • Previous airline experience is an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Overtime as required, on call.
  • Must work irregular hours.
  • Weekend work is required.
  • Work indoors and outdoors.
  • May be exposed to loud noise, dirt, oil, and fumes.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
