Job Summary

The Parts Manager will be accountable for organizing, coordinating, and managing the accounting of aviation parts, tools, and equipment. This role is crucial to maintaining optimal stocking levels for the organization's aircraft repair and maintenance plan.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the stores department, ensuring the following of all Wasaya’s policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Establish, train and maintain an efficient team
  • Support the Stores team through regular meetings, processing payroll, shift trades, vacation/sick day requests and responding to team member queries in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain shipping and receiving areas as well as areas for oversized items
  • Generate and monitor new processes & procedures within the stores department
  • Liaise with Maintenance personnel daily to ensure that all parts & tooling requests are being filled and that unserviceable material is processed promptly
  • Liaise with the team to monitor the status of AOG shipments and to track incoming/outgoing parts required for maintenance tasks across Wasaya’s network
  • Actively assess all areas of the department in order to identify operational inefficiencies and continuously work towards improving them in a timely manner
  • Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
  • Any other related duties as assigned

 

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent. Post Secondary preferred.
  • Experience working in stores/rotables environment, preferably in the aviation or automotive industry.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with database and spreadsheet programs.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent understanding of the Canadian Aviation Regulations pertaining to Stores and aircraft parts
  • Proven self-starter with good time management skills and able to multitask
  • Able to obtain airside security clearance
  • Valid G driver’s license or out of province equivalent
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to maintain filing systems and basic databases.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous record and database maintenance skills
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills, MS-Office preferable and proficient in use of internet and email
  • Able to work in a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
  • Well organized and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
  • The ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of First Nations Organizations is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Travel may be required.
  • Weekend and evening work may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift or move up to 20lbs.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
