Job Summary
The Northern Area Manager is responsible for managing, planning, and growing Wasaya Airways LP within the Northern communities. They are to ensure appropriate staffing, training, and execution of the standards, policies, and procedures of Wasaya Airways within all northern areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing multiple northern area locations ensuring staffing, training, and building relationships with the communities.
- Coordinating with Senior Management and creating reports.
- Communicate with Wasaya Airways LP Operations regarding the planned movements of Wasaya Airways LP passenger and cargo flights.
- Actively solicit within the community for charter work and passengers for scheduled flights
- Represent Wasaya Airways LP in the community in a friendly, positive, and helpful fashion.
- Attend required training sessions and perform other duties as assigned by Wasaya Airways LP
- Foster a healthy working environment and promote a positive climate within the workplace.
- Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
- Any other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with radio communication would be an asset.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proven mechanical abilities.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and e-mail.

- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must possess a high level of honesty and integrity.
- The ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
- Overtime as required.
- Weekend work may be required.
- Travel is required.
- Work indoors and outdoors.
- May be exposed to loud noise, dirt, oil, and fumes.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs.; Repetitively.
- Manual dexterity is required.
