Job Summary

The Company Trainer reports to the Director of TSC and works alongside Base and Regional Managers and leads to ensure the adequate training of all staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Where required, develop and document operational standards, policies and procedures and produce a manual and schedule of required training.
  • Assists Director and Managers in developing training programs to train all staff in areas identified by their respective Managers.
  • Arrange and outsource, if necessary, trainers to assist in the delivery of training programs. Where no trainers exist, provide training for staff as required.
  • Identify experienced internal resources where possible to deliver courses.
  • Working with all Departments to facilitate the necessary standardized training required.
  • Complete in-class and/or practical training for Teams and work along with Flight Operations, Maintenance and Ground Operations during transition period (if required).
  • Foster a healthy working environment and promote a positive climate within the workplace.
  • Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
  • Any other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum College Diploma and/or equivalent experience in airline operations
  • Previous airline operations/training experience is an asset

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
  • Must have clean criminal record check available.
  • Attend training seminars and train the trainer events.
  • Ability to travel, teach and present effectively using power point, use of excel, use of word.
  • Must be willing to travel to TTT sessions and professional development courses.
  • Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
  • Must be able to communicate all concerns to senior management.
  • Must maintain a professional and experienced level of service with all Wasaya customers.
  • Solid understanding of Google for Business, Microsoft Office, Windows, and Proprietary computer programs
  • Prior classroom and online training experiences are an asset.
  • Must have excellent operational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, MS-Office preferable, proficient in use of internet and email
  • Able to work in a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • The ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of First Nations Organizations is an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Travel is required. Some overnight stays may be required.
  • Weekend and evening work may be required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Indoor and outdoor working environment.
  • Hazards associated with the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
