Job Summary
To act as the primary point of contact between the station operations and System Operations Control Center (SOCC), the Station Operations Coordinator (STOC) will report all information and coordinate station specific support services as they relate to daily operations. Ensure the highest level of customer service, operational efficiency and safety is provided to the base staff and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a log of radio communications with flight crews and ground personnel.
- Receive and relay information data between SOCC; Flight Crews; Counter / Cargo / Ramp agents; Sales; Maintenance as required. Commissary / Grooming personnel, as necessary.
- Monitor station operations for potential problems and provide / discuss solutions to SOCC and / or the Base Managers.
- Follow guidance from SOCC, implement solutions as necessary.
- Plan specific stand assignments for flights operating at the station and coordinate aircraft towing as necessary.
- Monitor forecasted operations for delays and routing changes, advise appropriate personnel.
- Investigate, record and report flight delays. appropriately.
- Assist in other duties as instructed by Supervisor.
- Perform duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures. while giving primary consideration for personnel, co-workers and customer safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Have legal, unrestricted right to work in Canada and within the operating area of Wasaya Airways.
- Provide an acceptable Criminal Background Check, upon employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more (2+) years of previous airline operations experience or an equivalent combination of related post-secondary education and experience.
- Hold a valid Restricted Radio License (ROC-A), or the ability to obtain one upon employment.
- Able to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent computer skills, MS-Office preferable, proficient in use of internet and email.
- Proven ability to handle a fast-paced, high stress environment and multi-task with excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Post Secondary education preferred.
- Able to work in a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
- Strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and critical thinking skills.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- Ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of First Nations Organizations.
