Job Summary

Responsible to the SOCC Manager, the Crew Scheduler will coordinate and communicate daily crew assignments as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling of Flight and Cabin crews to fulfill scheduled, charter, freight and training flying requirements.
  • Update the flight crew schedules within the Aviation Management Software to reflect changes resulting from crew sick call, Reserve utilization, Flight assignments, and crew illegalities or to meet customer/ contract requirements.
  • Review crew qualifications to ensure crew members are within legal qualification parameters.
  • Arrange / coordinate necessary support for abnormal (delayed/ non-routine) flight operations at all destinations being served.
  • React to Irregular Operations (IROPs) to formulate and execute crewing centric recovery plans to minimize delays. Communicate such planning as necessary.
  • Monitor/ update current and future schedule block post -issuance.
  • Monitor flight/training /rest/travel/reserve of all crew.
  • Maintain best use of crew time availability.
  • Report data for crew scheduling violations
  • Track crew use of UOC ops
  • Must be able to read, understand and apply CARs regulations, CBAs, related legislation, and company policy and procedures.
  • Foster a healthy working environment and promote a positive climate within the workplace.
  • Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
  • Any other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous Airline Operations or Airport Operations experience is an asset.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Aviation ERP systems is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills, MS-Office preferable, proficient in use of internet and email
  • Able to work in a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • The ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset. 
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of First Nations Organizations is an asset.
