Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer specializing in Avionics* to join our team. As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of avionic systems on our aircraft fleet. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing avionic systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of systems meet Transport Canada and Wasaya Airways LP standards of performance and safety.
- Inspect and test aircraft instruments, electrical and avionics systems.
- Repair and overhaul, install, calibrate, and test aircraft instruments.
- Repair and overhaul, modify, install, and test aircraft electrical systems and equipment.
- Test electrical, electronic and instrument components.
- Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul, test, modify, install, and inspect aircraft electronic systems and components including communications, navigation, and auto flight equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install and inspect aircraft systems and components.
- Foster a healthy working environment and promote a positive climate within the workplace.
- Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
- Completing any required training prior to the due date.
- Assist with aircraft movements and ensure all aircraft that are outside are properly marked with safety cones.
- Obtain and maintain a valid RAIC and AVOP.
- Ensure proper tool control is followed.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed clearly and accurately.
- Abide by the rules set in the CBA.
Any other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
- Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Course or relevant experience through International
- Correspondence School (ICS)
- Experience working on any of the following airframes: Beech 1900D, Dash 8, ATR-42, Pilatus PC 12/45 is an asset.
- A strong safety-minded approach to work
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- An AME license E, or M1/M2 with Avionics experience, or working towards one.
- An ACA on one of the aircraft types.

- Excellent computer skills, MS-Office preferable, proficient in use of internet and email
- Able to work in a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
- First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets.
- Ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway
- Previous airline experience is an asset.
- Previous experience with and/or knowledge of First Nations organizations is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel is required.
- Weekend, evening, and nightshift work may be required.
- Hazards associated with trade.
- May be exposed to loud noise, dirt, oil, and fumes.
- Overtime as required.
- Indoor and outdoor work is required.
- May be required to work in confined spaces.
- Safety equipment will be required (PPE)*
