Job Summary

HOURS PER WEEK:   40 (Full-Time)

SALARY RANGE:          $40 - $60 K

The Revenue Accounting Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of revenue systems, analysis and reporting of revenue results, and accounting for and reporting of various revenue streams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enter local and interline fare increases to AmeliaRES
  • Manage cargo rates – enter new rates and rate increases into Amelia Cargo, updating documents for northern agents, and provide sales department with information as required
  • Track and analyze passenger data and prepare and analyze yield (revenue) reports and make recommendations (based on revenue analysis and booking demand forecasts for inventory, fares and schedules) to optimize future scheduled operations
  • Caro, charter, and passenger yield optimization through liaising with SOCC in the management and forecasting of seat inventory and scheduling capacity.
  • Adjust seat inventory and protection levels to maximize revenue on individual flights – liaising with SOCC to determine adjustments required
  • Prepare pricing analysis and determine results of pricing strategies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new pricing strategies
  • Provide statistical and analytical reporting as required and assist senior management in decision making relating to schedule and revenue Audit revenue systems for accuracy and completeness
  • Report on revenue results for various customers / communities as requested
  • Facilitate and manage the bi-weekly route profitability meeting
  • MTO reporting on statistical flight data
  • Manage and process community Daily Sales Reports, bank deposits, invoicing and auditing
  • Invoice northern airwaybills.
  • Verify in Amelia and approve Interline invoices for FIMs, passenger travel, and freight.
  • Summarize de-icing documentation for invoicing
  • Invoice and record Canada Post delivery revenue & calculate related fuel adjustments
  • Ensure all files and flights are closed in Amelia at month-end
  • Prepare and perform monthly reconciliations of key revenue and receivable accounts
  • Play an active role in ongoing improvement efforts in the revenue, receivables and collection process

Skills and Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • University degree or College diploma in accounting or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years or more of related accounting / finance experience
  • On-the-job training will be provided by experts in this field

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be a self-starter with proven ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills in using MS excel and MS Word, internet and e-mail
  • Proven skills and experience working in a computerized accounting environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Flexible, able to deal with change
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Assets:

  • Ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Overtime as required
  • Weekend work may be required
  • Some travel may be required
  • Ability to lift or move up to 10lbs
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals
