Job Summary
The Reservation Systems & Training Specialist is responsible for understanding the overall functionality of Wasaya’s chosen Reservation system(s) which include, but are not limited to, system functionality, performance, enhancements, testing, training, and guidance documentation. Additionally, the Reservation Systems & Training Specialist will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and facilitation of training within the Customer Service department. The Specialist will work closely with the Reservations team and Customer Service staff to ensure all staff are proficient with system capabilities and operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain technical and application knowledge of all supported products through hands-on experience, internal and external training.
- Support the implementation and future enhancements of myIDTravel, in addition to ongoing management of profiles and the program.
- Assist with maintaining online booking tool settings to fit the needs of the organization and applicable clients and preferred vendors.
- Be knowledgeable of third-party products and processes as they relate to the Reservation System(s).
- Perform end-to-end testing of Reservation System products, tools and enhancements.
- Oversee the organization and facilitation of initial and recurrent training requirements for CSA and Reservations staff.
- Train the trainers and other applicable internal users as required (i.e., Management), to support day-to-day operations, and use of Wasaya’s Reservation system(s).
- Develop and maintain Company policies, procedural reference materials, training materials, memos and other materials as applicable.
- Develop and maintain (revise) the CSA and Reservations’ training curriculum and applicable manuals such as the CSA Manual.
- Assist with research, resolution, and response to technical errors/concerns with Reservation system(s).
- Conduct monthly review and testing of new Reservation System releases, new products, and fixes.
- Provide updates, training tutorials and guidance material on new products, fixes, or processes.
- Assist with the management, enhancement of features and functionality within the Reservation System(s) and profile management tools as required by the operation.
- Support Business Management with potential Reservation System client decisions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues/concerns with Reservation System.
- Research relevant best practices at other airlines and make recommendations for internal implementation.
- Assist with annual department budget of training needs and expenses.
- Provide recommendations for future budgeting of operational enhancements.
- Adhere to all financial internal controls.
- Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis within your department
- Actively support the safety management system by following SMS processes and encouraging a safety reporting culture.
- Promote occupational health and safety and participate in safety training.
- Proactively communicate hazards and SMS initiatives within your department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with InteliSys Amelia reservations software required.
- GDS knowledge required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
- Five or more (5+) years of relevant experience in passenger airline travel industry required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop cooperative working relationships internally and externally.
- Highly organized and meticulous with detail.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
- High school diploma required (post-secondary education in related field an asset).
- Ability to travel is required
